A good Master of Ceremonies (MC) can be the difference between a very disjointed function and a successful wedding or event.

A Partyoz Entertainment MC will help everyone keep to time if required, partyoz MC's will also assist in moving guests and people between specific places (eg, if you are having an outdoor visual display or effect and your guests need to move outside to a deck area) but also between activities such as the cake cutting at your wedding reception, or inviting the bride and groom to partake in the bridal dance. Although, all too often the role of the master of ceremony is not taken seriously. Probably the most common mistake we see made on regular occasions is where a couple chooses a friend or family member to be the MC, even though they have no suitable expertise or experience.

For couples who choose to omit some or all of the formalities from their wedding, an appropriate friend or family member can work quite well.

While at times it may be a great honour for them, when you ask a guest to be the MC at your wedding or special occasion, it can sometimes be a stressful experience for them and a burden. It can detract them from enjoying the occasion and prevent them from relaxing at your function – because an MC must always be conscious of the functions timings and how things are running.

They generally won’t be able to enjoy their meal and have a few drinks. That’s not to say that many amateurs or inexperienced MC’s don’t try! In the 25 years of Wedding entertainment and corporate functions that Partyoz entertainment have been part of we have seen several who have enjoyed their drinks just a little too much and have not realised that what they are saying over the microphone may be inappropriate, embarrassing or downright annoying, especially when they’re carrying that microphone around and start singing whilst on the dance floor.
